My Heart & Other Black Holes

I redesigned the book jacket for Jasmine Warga’s poignant novel, “My Heart and Other Black Holes.” It is a Young Adult novel that explores themes of mental health, friendship, and love.

I focus on the word “black,”which encapsulates the darkness and struggles faced by the characters within the narrative. Each letter became a medium for depicting key plots and experiences woven throughout the story.

One of the most challenging yet rewarding aspects of the redesign process was the incorporation of Intricate illustrations into the letters of the title.
